Panopro Developer and Fixer FAQ
Can I mix different brands of developer and fixer?
You should never mix brands of developer and fixer. If you mix two different formulas you will get neither. If you mix Coke and Pepsi, you get neither.
Why does Panopro run cleaner than other brands?
Panopro is a proprietary formula that contains additional additives that prevent oxidation, stabilize PH drift and increase life.
Will Panopro void the warranty on my new Processor?
No, the law protects you from such claims. Major manufacturers know that the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Improvement Act states that a warrantor of a consumer product can not condition his written or implied warranty on the consumers use of a specified article, product or service which is identified by brand, trade or corporate name, unless it is provided at no charge.
When should I change my chemistry?
The average dental office you should change chemistry every 3-4 weeks.
Is Panopro a hazardous product?
Panopro is not a hazardous product and does not require a hazardous shipping fee.
What is the shelf life of Panopro?
The shelf life of premixed Panopro developer and fixer is 18 months.
Should I clean my processor before changing solutions?
Yes, dirty rollers and pans reduce the life of fresh solutions and effect their performance.
I changed my solutions and my x-rays came out clear, what happened?
It is most likely you reversed the developer and fixer.
Which is developer and which is fixer?
Panopro bottles are color coded. The Developer label and cap is red. The fixer label and cap is light blue.
What is the cost of Panopro?
A case of Panopro cost $39.50. An average office will use a case of solution every four weeks. The savings are in the amount of replenishment required. Other name brand solutions require you to use an additional gallon of developer and fixer for replenishment during the same period of time. Panopro saves you $15.00 to $30.00 per cycle compared to other brands.
Does Panopro need to be stored in the dark?
Avoid storing all developer and fixer in direct sunlight and heat. Direct light and heat promote oxidation and shorten the life of any chemistry.
Why do I need to replenish my developer and fixer?
Oxidation starts when the developer is exposed to air. Oxidation and developing film reduces the strength of chemistry. You must replenish the developer and fixer to maintain the original strength of the chemistry. Replenishing insures that your chemistry strength is maintained. Weak chemistry produces poor x-rays.
How much and when should I replenish my Developer and Fixer?
Some x-ray processors have automatic replenishers. If yours does not, use the following universal recommendations. Each morning you should drain 3 to 5 ounces from the developer and the fixer solutions. Top off each tank to cover the rollers. This replenishment is good for the first 30 bite wing film. If no film are developed replenishment is still recommended. Oxidation the main culprit is still at work. Each additional bite wing film requires ¼ oz.. Another 20 bite wing film requires an additional 5 oz. of replenishment. For each panoramic x-ray add an additional 2 ounces.
Is Panopro premixed?
Yes, for your convenience, hardeners have been added to reduce roller marks, scratches and speed up drying.
How is Panopro packaged?
Panopro is available in cases of 4 gallons, 2 developer and 2 fixer. Panopro is also available in cases of 4 gallons of developer and 4 gallons of fixer.
What is the correct temperature and time for Panopro?
Panopro is an all temperature formula, designed to work in all dental processors. Refer to your processor manual for your proper time and temperature. Recommended time and temp for most processors is 83°F. at five minutes.
Where do I purchase Panopro?
Panopro is sold through your local Dental Supply Dealer.
