2. Will I have to change my technique or exposure settings? No, Sharp Image requires the same exposure and technique as Kodak film.
3. What is the archive quality of Sharp Image X-ray Film? Sharp Image Film, when properly developed and fixed, will last a lifetime.
4. Is there a film type for every x-ray machine? Sharp Image Extra Oral panoramic, cephalometric, and duplicating films are available in all types and sizes. See attached conversion chart to select your film.
5. What is the difference between blue and green sensitive film? Blue sensitive film is a 200-speed film that uses a blue emitting calcium tungstate phosphor screen for general-purpose radiography. Green sensitive film is a 400-speed film when used with a high efficiency green emitting gadolinium oxysulfide phosphor screen. Green sensitive film and screens use 50% less radiation than blue sensitive systems.
6. Does Sharp Image have a comparative screen to my X-Omat Screens? Yes, Sharp Image RP2 Screens are blue sensitive 200 speed screens.
7. Does Sharp Image have a comparative screen to my Lanex Screens? Yes, Sharp Image TG4 Screens are green sensitive 400 speed screens.
8. Can Sharp Image Film be developed manually and automatically? Yes, Sharp Image can be processed manually or automatically.
9. Should I use the same time and temperature for automatic developing? Yes, the proper time for automatic developing is 5 minutes at 83 ° F.
10. What is the recommended time and temperature for manual developing?

Duplicating Film
11. How many sheets are in a box? Each box contains 100 sheets.
12. What is the best exposure time for Sharp Image Duplicating Film? Each duplicating unit is different. To find the proper exposure, start midway between 5-30 seconds.
13. My duplicate film is coming out too light. What do I do? Assuming that your chemistry is OK and at the proper temperature, decrease the exposure time. Decreasing the exposure will darken the duplicate film.
14. My duplicate film is coming out too dark. What's wrong? Increase the exposure time to lighten the duplicate film.
15. Which side is the emulsion side? Place the notch in the bottom right hand corner. You are now looking at the emulsion side.
16. How do I properly use duplicating film?
In the dark room use a ruby red safe light or GBX-2 safe light filter. For best results place the original x-ray on the transparent surface of the duplicator. Hold the duplicating film with the notch in the bottom right hand corner. You are now looking at the emulsion side. Turn the emulsion side down on top of the original film. Close the lid and expose 15-20 seconds. Remove and develop the film. * The original film should always be between the light source and the emulsion side of the duplicating film.
17. Will Sharp Image Duplicating Film work with the counter top technique? Yes, Sharp Image Duplicating Film is white light and ultraviolet light sensitive.
18. What is the correct counter top procedure? In the dark room with a ruby red or GBX-2 safe light filter remove the duplicating film from the box. Hold the film with the notch in the bottom right hand corner. The emulsion side is now facing you. Place the duplicating film on counter with the emulsion side facing up. Place the original on top. Find the best exposure time by exposing the film 5-30 seconds. Develop the film. * The original x-ray film should always be between the light source and the emulsion side of the duplicating film.
19. Do I need a ruby red safe light filter? Yes, Sharp Image Duplicating film is white light and ultraviolet light sensitive. Use a ruby red filter or a GBX-2 filter.
20. Why does my duplicate have a ghost like image? Make sure that emulsion side is facing the light source. Make sure you have a ruby red or GBX-2 filter. An amber color safe light will fog the film. Some duplicating machines have a preview light. If the color is orange you need to change the bulb.
